ISO officially publishes the standard ISO 9001:2026, replacing the version ISO 9001:2015

ISO 9001 remains the most widely used quality management standard globally, implemented by over a million organizations across various sectors. The new edition has been updated to address current business environment challenges while maintaining the structure and fundamental principles that established the standard.
What’s new in the ISO 9001:2026 standard?
Among the main updates of the ISO 9001:2026 version are:
- a stronger emphasis on quality culture and ethical behavior within organizations;
- a clearer separation of the concepts of risks and opportunities;
- integration of aspects related to climate change in the analysis of the organization's context;
- the clarification of terminology and the improvement of the interpretation of requirements through an extensive informative annex;

For organizations certified according to ISO 9001:2015, the transition to the new version is expected to take place over a period of approximately three years, providing sufficient time for impact assessment and updating existing management systems.
